Urlms.com Apple Script

Hi there! It’s been a while since my last post here, i know :) I’ve faced some hosting problems, but… everything is ok now.

I’m here to show you our latest application which is a simple script for Mac users to help ‘em generating short URLs.

URL hits

Wondering how popular your URL is ?

No problem… just add “/hits” to the end of any short URL.

Example:

You’ll be presented with something like:

Expression Engine Plugin

It is now available an EE plugin to short URLs using our service API.

This simple plugin shorts any URL between the {exp:urlms}{/exp:urlms} tags. Like the API, you can choose whether or not to use a custom pointer and/or a preview page for your short URL.

Example:

{exp:urlms pointer=”enginehosting” preview=”yes”}http://www.enginehosting.com/{/exp:urlms}

With a freeware license, it can be used free of charge. Hope you like it…

Latest entries

You can now follow all shorten URLs.

A link was added at bottom of the page and it gives you access to the latest 20 entries.

ColdFusion API kit

We now have an API for ColdFusion users. Thanks to Barney Boisvert wich promptly answered to our request for doing such thing. I must also thank him for pointing me a bug on the API result i haven’t noticed before.

IE problem …

It’s been a while since i don’t use Microsoft family browsers so I didn’t noticed the existing IE 6/7 bugs (i bet you did :). Will fix that soon and make sure the layout works well for all major web browsers. Sorry about that…

Hello and welcome to our new blog :)

This is the place where i’ll keep track of everything about this project.

Urlms is a really simple URL shortening / forwarding service.

This are some of the cool features in this service:

• You can enter a custom pointer for your short URL.
• You can choose to have a “preview page” for your short URL. This will show information about the destination URL before redirecting.
• The API also allows you to define whether or not you’ll use a custom pointer and/or  a preview page.
• More than 100 other “shortening URL service” domains are added to our blacklist to stop spam.
• URLs have no expiration time.
• We can short far more than 16 million URLs.
